A ONE-WOMAN MADCAP COMEDY

Christel Bartelse brings her award winning one-woman show CHAOTICA to the Fringe Theatre Festivals in Edmonton & Saskatoon.

Caught in an ever-shifting board game that wickedly transforms her into a different version of who she thinks she wants to be, Alice confronts her fears and desires in a desperate attempt to take control of her life. Fusing elements from nearly every comic tradition (sketch, stand-up, clown, satire and improv), CHAOTICA is a funny and touching play about remembering who we really are and what we really want. It has humour, heart, and tap-dancing too!

CHAOTICA premiered at the London Fringe, winning the Best-in-Venue Impressario Award and a nomination for Outstanding Touring Production. A graduate of the Randolph triple-threat Academy and trained in the Pochinko clown tradition under Mike Kennard and John Turner of Mump & Smoot, Christel taps her powerful creative arsenal to bring to life the comic nightmare of the chronically stressed-out.

One half of the Canadian Comedy Award nominated duo Burnt Marshmallows, Christel has joined forces with Dora nominated director Diana Kolpak, Dora nominated composer James Fisher and theatre, dance and circus veteran Sharon di Genova designing lights & stage managing.
